Protecting sensitive electronics that support HF (high-frequency) radar manufacturers, specifically for ocean current and wave monitoring, is an important task. See how EIC designed remote hardware to support HF radars that are commonly subjected to harsh corrosive environments.
EIC custom sized cooling/heating solutions for SCADA servers to ensure they were protected from local conditions and fit each equipment configuration.
EIC Solutions works closely with Impact cases to supply air conditioned transit case solutions to military and defense contractors for over a decade.
In 2013, a U.S. government aerospace agency reached out to EIC Solutions to develop a custom solution to protect their laser telescope and data tracking equipment in harsh environments. Learn how EIC air conditioned transit cases protected the equipment.
EIC Solutions new High Delta T Thermoelectric air conditioners are designed to combat harsh cooling environments. Great for remote locations and harsh environments, the High Delta T air conditioners can achieve greater drops from ambient temperatures compared to standard models.
EIC's customer is a well-known global provider of industrial equipment, machinery, instruments, apparatus and supplies. The customer serves clients in the petroleum extraction/refining, mining and hydrocarbon industries. EIC was presented with the need for cost-effective air conditioning of the enclosures to be used to protect electronics in drilling rig equipment. Among the types of equipment being used were mud-pumps, drilling motors, and TDSUs (top dry systems units). The electronics and circuitry in the equipment is occasionally exposed to explosive atmospheres requiring Class 1, Division 2 products. Typical Class I locations include petroleum refineries, gasoline storage and dispensing areas, spray finishing areas, aircraft hangars and fuel servicing areas.
EIC Solutions, Inc., a leading manufacturer of thermoelectric air conditioners, electronic enclosures and transit cases, has obtained NEMA 4X certification for the full line of its ThermoTEC Class I, Division 2 Series thermoelectric air conditioners for hazardous locations. Previously, only the 400 BTU model could be used for both indoor and outdoor protection against environmental factors such as the windblown dust and water (rain, sleet, snow, and hose). The 800 and 1500 BTU hazardous location models were rated NEMA 12 and were for indoor use only -- basically in applications that did not require washdowns.
EIC Solutions, Inc., a leading manufacturer of thermoelectric air conditioners, electronic enclosures and transit cases, has introduced the ThermoTEC 145 Series 1500 BTU Military Grade (MG) Air Conditioner. The lightweight thermoelectric cooling unit is designed specifically for use in transit cases for mobile military and defense applications.
EIC's Defender™ Series Clamshell Style Transit Cases are rugged & dependable cooling systems designed to protect electronic equipment in the harshest environments. Designed to meet the demands of the U.S. armed forces and Department of Homeland Security on land, in the air, and at sea - protecting their communication, encryption, surveillance and other electronic gear from damaging heat, dust, moisture, and corrosion.
The US military developed new technologies for IED defeat and detection systems for use in Iraq and Afghanistan. These systems utilized sophisticated sensors and electronics in order to detect the presence of roadside bombs and other improvised explosive devices. The working environment for these systems presented a significant challenge to the designers as the sensitive electronics would be subjected to the extremes of Middle East weather including: daily average temperatures from 48 degree C (120 Fahrenheit) in July and August to below freezing in January; a significant rainy season producing up to 100 centimeters a year in some places; and severe wind phenomena with massive dust storms and very dry, desiccating air.
